Devara was never intended to be two-part film, Jr. NTR spills the Real reason

Devara Part 1 is an upcoming action thriller film set to release in theaters on September 27, 2024. It features Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles and Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist. Ahead of the release director Sandeep Reddy Vanga hosted a conversation with the cast of Koratala Siva directorial. Jr. NTR spilled the beans on the reason behind making Devra a two-part film series while it was not intended initially.

The RRR actor has revealed that Deveara was supposed to be a single film however as the story developed they planned for two chapters making it a film series. During the conversation with Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, he shared the actual reason behind this decision. He along with director Koarata Siva planned to for just a movie but soon they realized the story was too big to be covered at once in 2-3 hours.

He said, “We never actually wanted to make this film in two parts. Never. We never had the intention of making it into two parts. But going deep into it, when we started shooting for it, it’s character-driven.” In the film every character has an important role that needs to be explained in detail. It is not just hero NTR’s character central but Saif’s Bhaira is equally vital.

He continued, “When it comes to Bhaira, I don’t think one part is enough to fully show the audience what Bhaira is about. Even for Janhvi, her character’s name is Thangam. What you are going to watch is a beautiful love story, which is there in the film. But, it is not just a love story because you need to have a romantic track in a movie, it’s not that. Janhvi’s character is completely interwoven with Devara’s character.”

Jr. NTR also mentioned that Devara Part 1 will be a delightful experience for the audience to watch in theaters. Directed by Korata Siva, Devara marks Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s debut in Telugu cinema. The movie is slated to release in theaters on September 27, 2024.
