Farhan Akhtar opens up about childhood anger and emotional turmoil following parents' separation

Farhan Akhtar, the renowned actor and also a talented director of Bollywood who has made some of the classic films of Bollywood. Today, even though he is considered one of the most successful actor-directors, there was a time when the actor's parents' separation made him a completely angry person. Let's know why this happened to the actor.

Recently, in Rhea Chakraborty's podcast, Farhan Akhtar talked about the impact of his parents' separation on him. The actor said that accepting everything at that time was no less than a challenge for him. The actor said, "For me, this was the moment that changed my whole perspective about things, that is probably my parents' separation. Till then, I used to feel that everything was fine. And I think it made me withdraw more into myself because being young, I didn't really know what was happening.Zoya was very much aware of what was happening and I think being the elder in some way she protected me from the kind of suffering that my mother was going through at that time. I think as a girl my mother was more comfortable talking to her. Zoya has always been older and wiser than her age. She grew up very fast.”

Farhana further said that “I was just in my own world. Unaware of what was happening.” Talking about the psychological changes that he went through after his parents' separation, Farhan revealed, "I think I became very defensive after my parents' separation, because when we had fights, children were very innocent and children do not have that filter so they say anything that can hurt the other child." Talking about his childhood, Farhan said that he was not aware of how much psychological or emotional damage he was causing to someone. I think that's the part that made me angry — 'Why do I have to listen to this?”
