Kangana Ranaut urges CBFC to release Emergency soon, States its turning loss bearing

Kangana Ranaut is still struggling to release her political thriller Emergency which was supposed to hit theaters on September 6, 2024. The film was banned just 4 days ahead of its release due to political protests despite receiving CBFC certification. Central Board of Film Certification had to hold the clearance and now the makers still await the green light. Kangana Ranaut has urged to authorities release the Emergency at the earliest as it is making huge loss to everyone involved.

Bombay High Court recently ordered CBFC to take a decision on the release of the said movie by September 25, 2024. A day after that Kangana Ranaut in a conversation with ANI addressed the loss the makers and people involved in the making are facing due to the delay in the release. She said, "I know how I made this film... I did not get any support from the film industry. It's made on a huge budget. I along with Zee and other partners created Emergency, and now with the release delay, everyone is bearing a huge loss. Delay release is a loss for all. I think the censor board should take the responsibility to release this film at the earliest."

Emergency is a political thriller based on the dark phase of Indian history of 1977 emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana Ranaut portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who imposed the 1977 Emergency. Not just acting she also directs and produces the project under her production company Manikarnika Films. Besides Ranaut, the film also stars, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and late Satish Kaushik among others.
