Renowned choreographer Jani Master has confessed to sexually assaulting a female co-worker, validating the accusations brought against him. This admission follows an extensive probe conducted by authorities.
The allegations against Jani Master famed for his involvement in movies such as Pushpa were first reported as a zero FIR in Raidurgam and later moved to the jurisdiction of the Narsingi police station. The accuser a 21-year-old choreographer claimed that Master had assaulted her during shoots over an extended period.
Jani Master is being accused of violating sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (causing harm) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). The POCSO charge was added after it was found that the victims age was below during the alleged incidents.
As per a news article in Great Andhra an high ranking law enforcement officer stated “The case is solid, and the chances of bail are minimal. We are currently discussing the application for his custody to facilitate further questioning regarding the allegations made against him."
Sumalatha, the wife of Jani Master, has refuted the accusations made against her spouse, asserting that they are part of a plot to damage his standing. “The allegation that the woman was harassed when she was 16 is disgusting. There is no truth in it. If the girl can show evidence, I will leave Master," she has put the burden on the victim to back up her allegations with proof.
