Vettaiyan Trailer: Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan clash over justice in high-stakes thriller; Prakash Raj voices Big B in Tamil

The excitement around Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Vettaiyan has reached new heights with the release of its long-awaited teaser at an extravagant audio launch event in Chennai. Vettaiyan is slated for release on October 10, 2024.

In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth takes on the character of an encounter specialist known for his fearless stance against dangerous criminals. But his harsh methods clash with the ideals of his superior Sathyadev, played by the late great Amitabh Bachchan, who supports a more moral and sympathetic approach to justice. The movie promises a storyline that digs into the ethical dilemmas surrounding encounter killings and human rights similar to Gnanavel’s previous film, Jai Bhim.

The film boasts an impressive lineup with Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and more bringing depth to the story through their captivating portrayals. The choice to have Prakash Raj provide a voiceover for Amitabh Bachchan's Tamil dialogues is what particularly fascinated fans. Raj, who wowed audiences in Jai Bhim has now added his vocal talent to Bachchan's character in Vettaiyan.

Rajinikanth, Ritika Singh, Dushara, Rana Daggubati, and music director Anirudh Ravichander graced the audio launch ceremony. While the occasion was filled with glitz and enthusiasm it was missing a notable guest, Amitabh Bachchan. The grandeur of the event was heightened when Big B, who was unable to attend in person, sent an emotional video greeting to the crowd.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel known for his critically acclaimed films Jai Bhim (2021) and Kootathil Oruthan, Vettaiyan marks his directorial venture and expectations are rising.
