Sharvari is currently enjoying the best phase of her career with Munjya, Maharaj, and Vedaa released in the same year 2024. The rising star is now gearing up for spy thriller Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt. She made her acting debut in Kabir Khan’s web series The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye but her first film was supposed to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actress has worked as an assistant director on SLB’s Bajirao Mastani starring Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh.
Sharvari, in an interview with News18, recalled how she bagged the job to assist Sanjay Leela Bhansali when her movie with the director was shelved. The actress whose maiden big screen debut was Bunty Aur Babli, said, “I was supposed to do a film with Sanjay sir’s production house. I had auditioned for that and had gotten shortlisted.”
The 27-year-old auditioned for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was even shortlisted. Unfortunately, after a few workshops things didn’t materialize and the project was put on the back burner. She further added, “We did a couple of workshops and then there was a bit of pause on that film because of some technical reasons. They had to figure something out and rework on the script. In that interim, I asked them if I can assist with them. At that time, Bajirao Mastani was also on floors and I requested if I can be an intern on that one. They obliged and were very happy to give me that job (smiles).”
She further expressed her wish to once star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie. “I haven’t gotten the opportunity to chat with him recently. But I really I hope do. I’ve never told him that I want to be his heroine. I’ve expressed it everywhere but not to him (laughs). One day, I hope my dream comes true,” the Vedaa actor added.
On the work front, Sharvari is busy shooting for her next big Bollywood project Alpha. This is another addition to YRF’s spyverse but the first female-led spy thriller in the universe. The movie will also star Anil Kapoor and will see the presence of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir from War.
