Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is all set to make a comeback to Bollywood after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The actor is set to break a long hiatus of featuring in Indian cinema. Earlier the reports of his return left fans excited and he was speculated to star opposite Vaani Kapoor. However, recent reports suggest that he has been roped in a theatrical project also starring Riddhi Dogra.

According to the Hindustan Times, Fawad Khan and Riddhi Dogra will play leading characters in a romance comedy drama. The director and other supporting cast names have been kept under wraps. The film will be shot extensively in foreign lands of New York and London. Both actors are currently busy with their previous commitments so the project is expected to go on floors by the end of 2024 and the makers plan to release it in theaters by the end of next year or the beginning or 2026.

A source close to the development informed, “The two will be cast in a romcom drama; the supporting actors are yet to be cast. The paperwork was only recently completed, and the duo have been cast as romantic interests. The director’s name is still kept under wraps.”

Speaking about filming schedule, the source added, “The shoot will begin by the end of this year. The makers plan to release the film by next year’s end or the beginning of 2026. The project will be shot in several locations including New York (US) and London (UK). It matches the theme of their romcom drama.”

Fawad Khan previously featured in 3 Bollywood movies making his Hindi cinema debut with Khoobsurat also starring Sonam Kapoor. He even earned a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for the 2014 released movie. He then appeared in Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).
