Masaba Gupta reveals her mother Neena Gupta's unconventional advice against acting

Masaba Gupta needs no introduction today. She is the daughter of Bollywood's veteran actress Neena Gupta and she is also a leading fashion designer. Masaba Gupta has now stepped into the world of acting with the streaming show 'Masaba Masaba'. Recently, Masaba revealed why she did not become an actress. Recently, during an interview, Masaba Gupta said that her mother Neena flatly refused to let her act. After all, despite being an actress herself, why did Neena do this? Let us tell you the reason behind it.

Masaba said, "She (Neena) did not allow me to become an actor. I remember Anupam Kher has an acting school in Mumbai. I told my mother Neena, I want to study acting because I want to become an actress. On this, my mother Neena said, 'Don't even think about it.' You know, your look is almost un-Indian. You will be put in a box. You will be disappointed."

Neena further told Masaba, "You should do something that you have to apply your mind to, something that you can do for the rest of your life." Neena further said, "Would like to try SNDT?" To this, Masaba said, "Admissions were open at that time. I went there and gave my paper and filled a form and my test grade marks were enough to fill that form and after giving the exam, I got selected."

Masaba also said that nepotism is not limited to the film industry, but is in every industry or profession. According to media reports, Masaba said, "Nepotism is there in every industry. A lawyer's son becomes a lawyer. A doctor's son becomes a doctor. And their father recommends them. This is the way of the world. Not just in India, but everywhere. Yes, sometimes I feel that opportunities are lost because of nepotism in Bollywood."
