Karan Johar: Shah Rukh Khan's full potential unused; Hails Aamir Khan as a game changer

Bollywood veteran actor Shah Rukh Khan often remains in the news. He has been entertaining the audience continuously for the past several years. Recently, veteran producer-director Karan Johar has talked about him. He said that Shah Rukh was not allowed to fully use his abilities as a mainstream star. The director said, "He wanted to become a unique star who would change cinema. However, now no one will allow this. The director further said that when Shah Rukh Khan's name is taken, there is an expectation attached to his name."

Karan Johar recently talked about Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan during an interview with Hollywood Reporter India. He said that the pressure to maintain the image of a superstar often prevents an actor like Shah Rukh from doing some different roles out of the box. He said that Shah Rukh tried to step out of the norm with films like Paheli and Ashoka. He also said that Shah Rukh has always had a desire to experiment and bring about change, which has been evident since the beginning of his career.

Karan Johar further said that Shah Rukh never wanted a mainstream hero image. However, the success of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge put him on this path. After this film, many of his love story films came, but he always wanted to do different kinds of roles. The director said that Shah Rukh's working with directors like Ketan Mehta, Kundan Shah and Mani Kaul is proof of this. The director revealed Shah Rukh's desire and said that he wants to become an actor who can bring revolution in cinema.

Karan also talked about another Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan during this time. He praised Aamir for becoming a game changer for the industry. He said that the way Aamir constantly chose different types of roles was very amazing. Karan mentioned Aamir's Lagaan and said that it is an important milestone in the history of Indian cinema. During this, he also mentioned many other films of Aamir like Taare Zameen Par, Rang De Basanti. He said Aamir also did Ghajini, which brought back the era of remakes in Hindi cinema.
