Urmila Matondkar has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir after 8 years of marriage. They tied the knot on February 4, 2016, and their marriage sparked headlines for interfaith union and a 10-year-age gap. Urmila married at the age of 42 in a secret wedding and is now seeking a separation. However, the exact reason behind the split is unknown but Mumbai court has confirmed that the couple has filed for divorce as per a source. It is also claimed that the decision is not on mutual terms. 

In spite of a strong and healthy relationship in the start, the couple couldn’t continue it further and decided to part ways. If reports are to be believed they already have been living separately. A source stated, "After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms".

Urmila who is 10 years older than Mohsin met him at Manish Malhotra’s niece’s wedding in 2014. 2 years later of knowing each other they got married in a close affair which was attended by close friends and family, from the industry the Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra marked his presence. Their marriage when became public grabbed eyeballs for Urmila being Hindu and Mohsin a Muslim from Kashmir.
