Alia Bhatt is on a promotional spree of her upcoming movie Jigra which also stars Vedang Raina. The action thriller tells the story of a sister who goes to extreme lengths to protect her brother. In the recently released 2-minute 49-second teaser trailer, fans got a glimpse of the powerful bond between the siblings. Vedang’s character plays a crucial role in the intense narrative, and his performance has already caught the attention of viewers.
In a recent chat with Karan Johar and Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt spoke highly about Jigra. The 31-year-old actress who leads as well as produces the project lauded her co-star Vedang Raina. She hailed him for his dedication and stated he would go far in his career. She even said that Vedang reminded him of Ranveer Singh. Alia talked about working with Vedang on their film Jigra, in which both of them play siblings. She praised Vedang, who plays her on-screen brother, for his dedication and hard work.
Alia said, “Vedang is fabulous. He is amazing; I don’t think he knows how amazing he is. I remember when we were doing an emotional scene, I told him, ‘you cry very prettily,’ which is a very nice thing for a Hindi film hero. He is very hardworking and instinctive. He’s got a lot of depth which will take him very far in his career.”
She further added, “He reminded me a lot of Ranveer Singh and I told him this as well. Just the way he is and his dedication. I think it is a huge compliment. The dedication and focus to the moment and the shot. Of course, he is his own person. He sings so beautifully. Vasan [Bala] and I would discuss this all the time that he is actually an old soul. I mean I would think I am an old soul but quite on the contrary, Vedang who is younger than me, is like 60! His soul is very deep-rooted and centred. He has a lot of depth in him, which I think will take him really far.”
