De De Pyaar De 2 shoot paused due to director's illness; R Madhavan joins Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in sequel

Fans of De De Pyaar De is eagerly looking forward to the comeback of their favourite rom com as the producers have officially started working on its sequel. The anticipation intensified with the announcement that R. Madhavan will team up again with Ajay Devgn following their recent collaboration in the horror movie Shaitaan. However fresh reports indicate that the filming of De De Pyaar De 2 has been temporarily suspended due to director Anshul Sharma being diagnosed with dengue.

The crew began shooting in Patiala Punjab wrapping up roughly days of filming and intending to carry on until mid-October. Unfortunately, the production has been halted because of Anshul Sharma’s health issues and the cast and team have headed back to Mumbai. As per an insider, "Once Anshul recovers, the team will plan a Mumbai shoot and resume the Patiala schedule at the earliest based on the actors' availability."

The follow up to De De Pyaar De continues the story of Ashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) as they navigate the next chapter in their relationship. In this instalment viewers will get to know Ayesha's family which brings about a whirlwind of comedic situations. Rumour has it that R. Madhavan will play Ayesha's charming father who questions whether Ashish is the right match as a son in law. Get ready for a mix of laughter and excitement in this sequel.

Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are set to bring back their characters Ashish and Ayesha in the upcoming film alongside other recognizable faces from the original. With T-Series and Luv Films behind the production the movie is slated to hit theatres on May 1, 2025, offering fans of the franchise a dose of humour and romance.

The upcoming sequel De De Pyaar De 2 is generating excitement with R. Madhavan joining the cast and the continuation of Ashish and Ayeshas charming love story.
