When asked why they kept their relationship private, Sonakshi explained, “Yaa, nazar,” referring to the belief in avoiding the evil eye. She added that, as an actress constantly in the limelight, it was important to keep certain aspects of her life private. “You’re already so much in the limelight; everybody knows everything about you. Something that is so dear to you should be kept for yourself,” she said, emphasizing the value of protecting personal moments from public scrutiny.

The couple’s Instagram post commemorated their love, with a heartfelt caption that read, “On this very day, seven years ago (23.06.2017), in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs... leading up to this moment... where, with the blessings of both our families and both our gods... we are now man and wife.”

Their wedding celebration was followed by a star-studded reception on the same day, attended by Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Kajol, Rekha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Sonakshi and Zaheer’s union has been widely celebrated, and the actress’ heartfelt words have given fans a glimpse into the private side of her personal life, showing the importance of safeguarding what matters most.
