On Friday, September 27, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stole the spotlight at the IIFA Utsavam in Abu Dhabi. She graced the green carpet alongside her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Looking stunning in a black embroidered coat Aishwarya showcased her charm and humour while engaging with the media and addressing inquiries about her daughter’s regular attendance at events.
When a journalist noted that Aaradhya is always by her side and soaking up knowledge from the finest sources Aishwarya quickly put an end to any rumours with a bright but resolute response. "Whoa! She's my daughter, she's always with me," The past title holder of Miss World remarked with a wide smile as she strolled away. Aaradhya, looking quite flustered, trailed closely behind her mom.
In a video from the event the year-old actor shared some touching words of wisdom with other mothers. When questioned about her approach to raising a daughter like Aaradhya Aishwarya provided a considerate reply. "Listen, you are a mother and you know best. We are all human beings... there's no book of rules that we are born with. You are incredible. You do you, and be incredible with your daughter."
Aishwarya attended the IIFA event to cheer on the Ponniyin Selvan-II cast where she played Nandini. During a media interaction she shared her heartfelt appreciation for director Mani Ratnam calling him her "biggest Guru." Aishwarya modestly remarked that she feels "nobody to comment" Ratnams growth as a director but was thrilled to collaborate with him once more and rejoice in the success of the film franchise.
At the event the actor was accompanied by Mani Ratnam and her fellow cast member Vikram as well as other prominent figures in the industry such as Rana Daggubati, Raashi Khanna, Mrunal Thakur, Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Rishab Shetty, Karan Johar and Kriti Sanon. The IIFA Utsavam is a lavish celebration spanning three days held on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, that unites some of the brightest stars of Indian cinema.
