Ronit Roy opens up about payment issues on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan set, Credits director’s associate for clearing dues

Ronit Roy the actor recently opened up about facing delays in receiving payments while working on the set of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He shared that his outstanding dues were finally settled after an associate of Ali Abbas Zafar intervened. The movie featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff did not perform well at the box office and now details regarding payment issues behind the scenes have come to light.

During a revealing conversation on Zoom Ronit disclosed that he only received his payments from producer Vashu Bhagnani after Himanshu Mehra a close partner of Ali Abbas Zafar stepped in to help. "The money was supposed to come from Vashu Bhagnani, and it did, but only after Himanshu stepped in," Ronit said.

The actor revealed that there were holdups in paying his crew and the security staff who ensured the safety of the filming sites in Mumbai. It was only after Himanshu pushed for it that these pending payments were settled. He noted that his team got their payment via the Dubai subsidy with Mehra playing a role in sorting out the issue.

Ronit shared that he found his time working on the movie to be quite tough and expressed his reluctance to team up with the Bhagnani’s once more. He also spoke out against claims suggesting that director Ali Abbas Zafar had taken control of the film referring to those allegations as unfounded. “Vashu was on set every day. It’s hard to believe he wasn’t aware of what was happening,” Ronit said.

The matter of unpaid dues has been simmering for a while now. Ali Abbas Zafar had earlier lodged a complaint with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) regarding outstanding payments. In response to this producers Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani took action by filing a report against Ali accusing him of misappropriating funds during the making of the movie.

FWICE previously verified that Ali and several directors associated with Pooja Entertainment had filed complaints regarding outstanding payments. In spite of the ongoing disputes Ronit stressed that both he and Ali Abbas Zafar are actively addressing the pending payment matters for the crew to expedite a resolution.
