Mukesh Khanna on Akshay Kumar's flop streak: “He is choosing wrong films”

Akshay Kumar is indeed facing a rough phase with his movies performing poorly at the box office. He previously released movies tanked despite being true stories. Mukesh Khanna, who is known for being vocal about his opinions, reacted to Kumar’s recent movie graph. The actor popular for his character Shaktimaaan doesn’t hesitate to controversy. He recently asserted that present-day actors don’t do justice to their roles. He even feels Akshay Kumar is choosing the wrong films.

In an interview with Bollywood Thikana, Mukesh Khanna spoke on Akshay Kumar’s recent streak of flops. He said, “I even sent him a message about it. While he’s selecting films, he’s choosing the wrong ones.” The actor pointed out that Akshay has established a reputation as both a fighter and a comedian, suggesting he should concentrate on roles that reflect that image.

Mukesh further talked about his experience of working with Akshay during the film Saugadh. He said, “During filming of Saugandh, the fight master told me that they give this boy (Akshay Kumar) training at the Juhu beach and whatever they teach him, he does better than them. Akshay was a street fighter in Indonesia, he also worked as a chef there. So, he came after learning everything. I knew this boy would go far.”

The veteran actor calls Akshay Kumar the fittest man in the industry revealing he exercises daily at 6 in the morning. He further stated that he didn’t do justice to his character in Samrat Prithviraj. According to Khanna, the actor played himself and not the might kings. He was quoted saying, “Akshay just took the liberty of wearing a wig and a moustache. He was looking like Akshay Kumar and not Prithviraj Chauhan. He didn’t work on his body language.”

Talking about Akshay Kumar’s film slate, he is currently working on multiple projects with Welcome to the Jungle, Housefull 5, and Sky Force in the pipeline.
