Archana Puran Singh opens up about filming comedy show after receiving heartbreaking news of mother-in-law's death

Actor Archana Puran Singh recently shared a deeply emotional experience from her career, revealing that she once had to continue laughing on a comedy show set despite receiving the heartbreaking news of her mother-in-law's death. In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Archana opened up about the difficult moment, stating that her sense of professional responsibility pushed her to keep going.

Recalling the incident, Archana said, “I was halfway through the episode when I got the news of my mother-in-law’s death. I immediately wanted to leave, but I knew I had to finish the episode. The team told me to sit and just laugh, as they would edit the reactions later.”

Describing how she managed to laugh through her grief, she added, “Imagine what was going on in my head—my mother-in-law had just passed. But in this industry, with 30-40 years of experience, you know that the producer’s money is at stake, and leaving work incomplete isn’t an option.”

Her husband, actor Parmeet Sethi, also understood the professional demands of the situation, and Archana noted that despite her sorrow, she carried on with the shoot, maintaining her composure under immense pressure.

Archana Puran Singh, who debuted in the film Abhishek and starred opposite Naseeruddin Shah in Jalwa, has appeared in iconic films like Agneepath (1990), Saudagar (1991), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Krrish (2006), and Bol Bachchan (2012). She is currently seen in the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show.
