Govinda shoot incident: Police unconvinced by the actor’s version of the misfire accident

Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader is currently under investigation after he misfired himself with his licensed gun. Mumbai police seized his revolver and scrutinized the incident. Crime Branch also launched a parallel inquiry into the incident The actor was admitted at the CritiCare Hospital where the officials recorded his statement. However, as per new reports, the Crime Branch is not convinced by Govinda’s timeline of the happening. 

Reports suggest that Govinda informed the police that while he was cleaning the revolver it was unlocked and led to a misfire. He mentioned that it was a 20-year-old gun and he was alone at his residence when the incident took place in the early hours of October 1. Police sources and reports indicate preliminary evidence pointing to no foul play, but they remain doubtful of Govinda’s statement. It is likely that he will be called for further questioning soon. 

According to news agency PTI, senior police inspector Daya Nayak led a crime branch team visited the actor in the hospital and spoke about the incident. As per reports, Police said no complaint has been filed in this matter and they are not fully convinced by Govinda’s story. 

The investigation is going on and it has also been reported that Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja has also been interrogated by the police. Police have documented her statement and aims to get the facts clear.

After the incident, Govinda’s manager confirmed the news, with his statement,  “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now.”

Govinda after becoming stable shared an update about his health and thanked his well-wishers. He informed his fans that he is doing well after injuring himself accidentally.
