Megastar Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital in Chennai, late Thursday night. He was admitted to a hospital on Monday following severe stomach pain. He successfully underwent an elective procedure which was conducted by a team of three speciality doctors in a cath lab. After being under observation for 3-4 days he received approval to go home from the doctors. Reportedly he was discharged at 11 pm on October 4, 2024.
News agency ANI confirmed the update on Twitter. The tweet read, “Actor Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital at 11 PM last night: Chennai Police.” As per reports, the actor suffered a swelling in the main blood vessel. During the operation, a stent was placed near his lower abdominal area. Also, he was treated through a non-surgical transcatheter method.
Tamil Nadu’s superstar Kamal Haasan wished a swift healing to his old friend and longtime contemporary actor. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi too expressed his wishes for the superstar’s speedy recovery. He penned a note on social media, “I stand with the millions of devoted fans of Thiru Rajinikanth around the globe in praying for his swift and smooth recovery.”
On the work front, he is busy with two films on the cards - Vettaiyaan and Coolie. He has teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years for the action drama Tamil movie Vettaiyaan. This also marks the 170th film of his career. Vettaiyan directed by TJ Gnanavel is made with a massive budget of Rs 160 crore. Produced by Lyca Productions the film is slated to release in theaters on October 10.
