The controversy continues over Telangana minister Konda Surekha's shocking comments about Samantha Ruth Prabhu's and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. Surekha's comment had many stars objecting to it. Meanwhile, actor Ram Charan has come out in support of his Rangasthalam co-star Samantha and the Akkineni family. On his official X account, Ram Charan expressed his disappointment and criticised the Telangana minister's comments.
Ram Charan, "The statements made by Konda Surekha garu are irresponsible and baseless. It is shocking to make such lewd public comments about respected persons, especially by an elected leader who holds a public office. Such slander is aimed at destroying the fundamentals of our society." He further said that the film industry is united against such reckless behaviour, adding,."Our private life is very sacred to us and deserves due respect. We are public figures, we should support each other, not break each other."

The Telugu film industry supported Samantha and the Akkineni family over this controversial and indecent comment by Surekha. Apart from Ram Charan, other leading stars of South India have also expressed support to the Akkineni including Jr NTR, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, SS Rajamouli and Chiranjeevi.
