The actor underwent a elective procedure treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. Recovering from the illness the megastar has penned a heartfelt note thanking his politician friends, colleagues, well-wishers, friends, and media.
Thalaivar took to his official Twitter handle to share his gratitude after returning home. He posted a picture of a handwritten note in Tamil language on Twitter. He is grateful to all his close ones and well-wishers praying for his speedy recovery. The note was written on a letterhead with Rajinikanth written on the top left corner and the address on the right corner.
The note on his letterhead in Tamil language translated to “My heartfelt thanks to my politician friends, colleagues in cinema, my friends, well-wishers, and media friends for hoping a speedy recovery for me after recently being hospitalized. The 76-year-old actor was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on September 30 after he suffered severe stomach pain. He successfully underwent an elective procedure which was conducted by a team of three speciality doctors in a cath lab. As per reports, the actor suffered a swelling in the main blood vessel. During the operation, a stent was placed near his lower abdominal area. Also, he was treated through a non-surgical transcatheter method.
On the work front, he is busy with two films on the cards - Vettaiyaan and Coolie. He has teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years for the action drama Tamil movie Vettaiyaan. This also marks the 170th film of his career. Vettaiyan directed by TJ Gnanavel is made with a massive budget of Rs 160 crore. Produced by Lyca Productions the film is slated to release in theaters on October 10.
