Ananya Panday opens up about mental health, social media, and her approach to handling emotions: ‘I find it tough to express myself’

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday recently shared her thoughts on mental health, social media pressures, and how she handles difficult emotions during a candid interaction with filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane. The two sat down for a discussion as part of a YouTube segment hosted by We Are Yuvaa, where they touched upon topics ranging from their careers and love lives to thriller films and the impact of social media.

During the chat, Panday, known for her roles in films like Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan and Gehraiyaan, revealed that she struggles to express herself when feeling down or upset. In a lighthearted moment, she admitted, "I find it tough to express myself because I start crying immediately." To cope with such situations, the actress shared that she prefers to step away and take a break, even though she dislikes doing so at the moment. “Every time I’ve done it, it has always ended better,” she added.

Vikramaditya Motwane, who directed Panday in her thriller CTRL, also weighed in on the conversation, admitting that he tries not to act on his first instincts when feeling low. “My instinct is to get nasty, find fault, and get angry,” Motwane confessed. To avoid that, he shared his methods of self-care, such as taking a walk, reading, or watching something to momentarily switch off before addressing the issue.

Panday further reflected on the mental health challenges posed by social media, especially while promoting CTRL. The actress revealed she is considering a “digital detox” after the film’s promotions, admitting that constant online activity has affected her well-being. "I think I'm going to be taking that much-needed digital detox because it does affect your mental health," she told PTI.

On the work front, Ananya Panday is keeping busy with her next project, Shankara, adding to an already impressive slate of upcoming films. Fans are eager to see her performance as she continues to navigate the demands of the entertainment industry while prioritizing her mental health.
