The extravagant, action-loaded trailer of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again was released this morning. And fans of Salman Khan were disappointed to find that the Bollywood superstar was not part of the filmmaker’s Cop Universe in his iconic character Chulbul Pandey of the Dabangg franchise. Meaning, he is unlikely to feature in the third installment of the Singham series. Ajay Devgn was there, of course, he is Bajirao Singham, the dark, brooding cop who is the nemesis of all bad guys. And Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh, in their cinematic cop characters Veer Sooryavanshi and Sangram Bhalerao Simmba. But there was no sign of Salman as Chulbul Pandey in the trailer.

However, there is still hope. Just as Rohit Shetty introduced Akshay Kumar as Sooryavanshi at the very end of Simmba as the title credits went up, the buzz is that Salman as Chulbul Pandey will play a spectacular cameo at the end of Singham Again when the credits start rolling. If this happens, then all speculation of a future collaboration between Salman and Rohit Shetty will turn out to be true. The filmmaker is believed to be keen on featuring the Bhaijaan in a full-fledged role in a future project. A trade source said, “It doesn’t get bigger than this – Salman joining Ajay, Akshay, Ranveer, Tiger Shroff, Deepika, Kareena and Arjun Kapoor in a Rohit Shetty film.”

This Diwali will be filled with fireworks but on big screens. Singham Again brings an exciting casting coup of multiple A-listers. Apart from headliners Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film also stars Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar. This is the third chapter of the Singham series and the fifth installment of the Rohit Shetty cop universe. Singham Again is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2024.
