Ahead of the release of Jigra, Vasan Bala revealed he wished to cast Alia Bhatt since Gangubai Kathiawadi. He shared a collage picture of Gangubai Kathiawadi hoarding and another hoarding of the upcoming film Jigra. Sharing the picture he mentioned both were installed on the same street in Mumbai. Sharing his stance he added wish fulfilled and gossip could continue. Alia Bhatt reacted to the post commenting a smiling face with a tear emoji.

Director Vasan Bala’s recent remarks sparked a controversy about Alia Bhatt not being the first choice for Jigra. He revealed being upset and unhappy with producer Karan Johar sharing the rough script draft with the actress. Responding to the chatter, Karan Johar accused people of misinterpretations and asked them to hear and read this entire interview before making clickbait assumptions. Days after Vasan’s statement went viral, now director has himself putting gossip to an end.
