Dharmendra responds sharply to FIR show writer Amit Aryan's claims, Accusing Salim-Javed of copying stories

The writer of TV serial FIR, Amit Aryan, recently accused veteran writer Salim-Javed of copying stories for their films. He said that Salim-Javed was not a writer. They have copied stories all their lives. Amit claimed that Salim-Javed's Sholay was a copy of Raj Khosla's Mera Gaon Mera Desh. Legendary actor Dharmendra has now reacted to this controversy.

Dharmendra has played the lead role in both Sholay and Mera Gaon Mera Desh. In an interview with Zoom, he said, "I have worked in both the films. I did not see any similarity. Yes, the villain of one was Jabbar Singh and the villain of the other was Gabbar Singh. This does not make those films similar. Maybe they are both cousins, who knows?"

Just to let you know that in a recent interview to Digital Commentary, Amit Aryan made many big claims about the Salim-Javed duo. Amit Aryan has written many TV shows and films. He has written projects like FIR, Lapataganj, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, ABCD and Do Not Disturb. In an interview, he said that Salim-Javed are 'copywriters' and not writers of truth. He claimed that the duo never did any original work.

Amit Aryan compared Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Sholay and said, "Sholay shows a man whose hands have been chopped off and his family has been wiped out by a dacoit. He tries to take revenge through someone else. In Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Vinod Khanna played the role of dacoit Jabbar Singh, who became Gabbar Singh in Sholay."

He said that actor Jayant played the role of a retired soldier in Mera Gaon Mera Desh, whose hands were chopped off. Sholay has a retired police officer, in this too his hands are chopped off. In Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Jayant's character asks Dharmendra to take revenge, which is initially refused but in the end it happens. Apart from Dharmendra, another character, Amitabh Bachchan was added to Sholay.
