While he was in a miserable condition Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani offered a helping hand to Amitabh Bachchan, however, he turned down the proposal.
Amitabh Bachchan and Dhirubhai Ambani’s friendship is well known. Both the actor and the businessman faced tough times but emerged stronger. When Amitabh Bachchan was bankrupt and banks raided his house Dhirubhai Ambani asked his younger son Anil Ambani to help the actor.
Earlier in an interview, Amitabh Bachchan recalled, "There was a phase in my life when I went bankrupt. The company I had built suffered losses, I had debts, my personal bank balance was zero. All my avenues to earn were shut and the government had raided my house."
He further added, "Whatever he had to offer, all my financial troubles would have been solved. I got emotional at his generosity but turned it down. God was kind and after some tough days, the tide changed. I started getting work and slowly I could repay all my debts."
