Alia Bhatt’s Jigra stands strong closing first weekend with decent day 3 box office collection

Jigra continues to perform decent at the box office closing its first weekend. Alia Bhatt has featured in an action thriller film for the first time and undoubtedly she has nailed it. Critics review and audience responses are proof of it. Vasan Bala's directorial released on October 11 is running well in theaters registering Rs 11.64 crore for a total collection of three days. On Sunday, day 3 the film minted Rs 5.51 crore 

The action thriller film with a blend of emotional narrative registers a modest collection at the box office. On day 1 it made a decent business of Rs 4.55 crore and witnessed a jump off Saturday, day 2 with a collection of Rs 6.58 crore. Earning Rs 5.51 crore on day 3, Jigra stands strong at the box office closing its first weekend at Rs 16.64 crore total collection.

Jigra opening day collection was allegedly affected by Dussehra festivities however, it made a good business. On the second day which was Saturday, it evidently saw a growth with housefull shows recorded in metro cities. Citing the current, the film is expected to earn well on Monday. 

Presented by Karan Johar, the film showcases the story of Alia Bhatt’s character Satya’s determination to protect her brother at any cost. And for that matter, he even jailbreaks in Hanshi Dao country, to save brother Ankur (played by Vedang) from wrong allegations of drug case. Alia Bhatt has impressed in her first action thriller role while Vedang has been quite good. 

Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra opened in cinemas on October 11. The film marks Alia Bhatt's maiden theatrical production venture after tapping into OTT with Darlings. Alia Bhatt not only headlines the project but also bankrolled it under her company Eternal Sunshine Productions in association with Dharma Productions. Presented by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions, Jigra is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Somen Mishra.
