Filmmakers are going pan-India with actors and directors from South and Bollywood collaborating for projects. Peepingmoon.com was the first to report that Lokesh Kanagaraj has roped in Aamir Khan for a cameo in Rajinikanth’s Coolie. Earlier, the duo were in advance talks of a full-fledged movie. Well, it is now reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj and Aamir Khan are contemplating a superhero film.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and South director Lokesh Kanagaraj have been in talks for a long time to collaborate for an epic big-screen entertainer. They have been discussing ideas for a potential collaboration and as per source, they have zeroed down to a superhero film. Lokesh will work on the story with his team of writers and if Aamir Khan likes it they will start shooting in 2026.

According to Pinkvilla, a source close to the development revealed, “Lokesh Kanagaraj and Aamir Khan have met multiple times over the last few months, and brainstormed several ideas for their potential collaboration. The one idea that has excited both of them is a superhero film and Lokesh is now looking to develop the same with his team of writers, before pitching the first draft to Aamir.” 

The source further added, “Aamir is busy with Sitare Zameen Par and will follow it up by taking a film with either of Rajkumar Santoshi, Zoya Akhtar, or Avinash Arun on floors in 2025. Lokesh on the other hand is shooting for Coolie at the moment, and then moves on to Kaithi 2 in 2025. If Aamir likes the script, the superhero film could go on floors in 2026. The idea is presently in the development stage and Lokesh is also charged up to take things to the next level with Aamir Khan.”

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is focused on producing movies while he took a break from acting. His latest bankrolled movie Laapataa Ladies did wonders after the digital release. The next productional project under Aamir Khan Productions is Sitaare Zameen Par. He has also been discussing a comedy caper project with Rajkumar Santoshi.
