When Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed his dream of directing, His father’s reaction was a shocking slap!

Popular director Vidhu Vinod Chopra is known for his brilliant films and direction. Recently, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that when he told his father about him becoming a director, his father got very angry. Vidhu Vinod's father slapped him after hearing this. His father said that financial stability is required to pursue one's career in Mumbai.

White talking in a show, Vidhu Vinod Chopra recalling the memories of the early days said that when he told his father that he wanted to become a director, his father slapped him. He also told him about the bitter truth of the world. He clearly told him that it is very difficult to live in Mumbai without financial stability.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, while living in Kashmir, he said, 'Paaji, I want to make a film. He slapped me. He said that I will die of hunger in Mumbai’. After this incident Vidhu Vinod Chopra left from there after this. He could not say anything more to his father about this at that time.

He secured first position in first class in Economics Honours at Kashmir University. This achievement earned him a national scholarship of Rs 250 from the Government of India, which was a small but important step towards his dreams. After this, Vidhu arranged to go to the National Film School. He spoke to his father again in 1979, when he was nominated for an Oscar. On this his father asked if he would get money for this.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has loved cinema since childhood, has proved himself many times as a film producer, director and writer. He has received many awards for his incomparable contribution to Hindi films. He has given Bollywood films like 'Munnabhai MBBS', 'Shikara', 'Mission Kashmir', '3 Idiots'.
