Shah Rukh Khan's iconic 'Fauji' returns: Vicky Jain and Gauahar Khan lead the sequel after 36 years!

Shah Rukh Khan's debut show 'Fauji' is making a comeback with a sequel after 36 years. The show, directed by Lt. Col. Raj Kumar Kapoor in 1988, launched Shah Rukh on television in a lead role and made him a household name. Now, it has been revealed that a sequel to 'Fauji' is being made. Recently, interesting information came to light about 'Fauji 2'. There are reports of Ankita Lokhande's husband Vicky Jain playing the lead role in 'Fauji 2'.

Gauahar Khan will also be seen in 'Fauji 2'. Apart from starring in the show, Vicky is also its co-producer along with Sandeep Singh. The show will be aired on Doordarshan. This big news was shared by Sandeep Singh, who posted the teaser and captioned, 'The most iconic show ever in India is coming back. We are honoured to bring back Fauji 2. The announcement has left the viewers of the first instalment of the show excited. Reacting to the post, a user wrote, 'Wow, wow, wow, what a comeback. After his memorable appearance on Bigg Boss, if Vikas Jain is there then it will be full of drama. This is going to be a hit.' Talking about Vikas Jain, he is the husband of famous actress Ankita Lokhande. He has appeared in shows like 'Bigg Boss 17', 'Laughter Chefs' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. According to reports, Vicky will play the role of Colonel Sanjay Singh, while Gauahar Khan will be seen in the role of Lieutenant Colonel Simarjit Kaur.

Released in the 1980s, 'Fauji' aired on Doordarshan. The show highlights the achievements, failures and struggles of the Indian Army. Shah Rukh played the character of Abhimanyu Rai. The character is said to be inspired by Lieutenant Colonel Sanjay Banerjee of the Bombay Sappers of the Indian Army. The show was a huge hit and fans re-watch it even today.
