Akshay Kumar dominates the OTT charts with Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein securing top position across Asia

Akshay Kumar, who is tagged as one of the most disciplined and busiest actors in Bollywood, consistently delivered movies that resonated with the audience. His recent releases Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein were appreciated and loved becoming the audience favorite. After the theatrical release, both movies achieved a phenomenal feat on their digital release. Sarfira which was released in July this year started streaming on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar on October 11. Since its digital release Sarfira soon secured the number 1 spot in viewership within just a week.

Khel Khel Mein which opened in cinemas in August made its digital debut on Netflix on October 9. This comedy-drama also made waves upon its OTT release, racking up four million views within four days. Within the same time period, it amassed 8.7 million hours of watch time and has ranked number 1 across Asia. The film is trending in the top 10 in 13 countries, reaffirming Akshay Kumar’s widespread popularity. Sarfira explores the chronicles of Captain GR Gopinath who contributed to a significant shift in the aviation industry. The film is about his entrepreneurial journey displaying his struggles, challenges, and determination to achieve the dream of launching Deccan Air, a low-cost airline making air travel affordable for common people.

Khel Khel Mein is an entertainer bringing back Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan to comedy. The comedy-drama revolves around a group of friends indulging in a quirky game night that soon turns into a nightmare as secrets unfold. It stars an ensemble cast including, Akshay Kumar, Vani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.

Akshay’s remarkable ability to connect with audiences has solidified his status as the King of OTT. And there’s more to come.
