Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar’s untitled on C. Shankar Nair books Holi 2025 release

The most-awaited film on India’s top barrister C. Shankar Nair headlined by Akshay Kumar finally made an official announcement. Dharma Production treated fans by unveiling the release date of the film based on the life of Indian lawyer and statesman C Shankar Nair starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan in lead roles. This power-packed social drama booked Holi 2025 weekend for the release. The update on the biopic set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre announced that the yet-to-be-titled film will hit theaters on March 14, 2025. 

This has fueled excitement among Akshay Kumar fans who have been waiting to see him essay the biographical role of C Shankar Nair. Karan Johar’s Dharma Production dropped a release update on social media along with a note revealing the details of the film. Sharing the official announcement poster on Instagram, they captioned it, “Ek Anokhi Kahaani, Ek Unsuna Sachh.” Further added, “Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan & Ananya Panday - this untitled film is releasing in cinemas on 14th March, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.”

In the poster, the makers mentioned key details, which read, “The untitled film on the shocking cover-up of a massacre that pushed India's top barrister C. Sankaran Nair to fight an unprecedented battle against the British Empire.” It added,  “The film is inspired from real life events & adapted from the book "The Case That Shook The Empire" written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.”

The yet-untitled saga is based on the life of Indian lawyer C Sankaran Nair. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in leading roles. The courtroom drama directed by Karan Singh Tyagi is currently in the post-production stage and gearing up for release in March 2025.
