Priyanka Chopra was originally part of 'Citadel: Honey Bunny,' say Raj & DK, here is what happened..

'Citadel India' is now known as 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'. Its story is derived from Richard Madden-Priyanka Chopra's original show 'Citadel' (backed by Russo Brothers). Raj and DK's 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' will follow the story of the Italian version of the show 'Citadel: Diana'. It has a link to Priyanka's character Nadia. Priyanka was going to be a part of 'Honey Bunny' along with Varun Dhawan and Samantha, but it could not happen. The producer and director of the series Raj and DK revealed in an interview what happened that changed things-

Raj and DK revealed in an interview that Priyanka was going to be a part of 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', which stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha in the lead roles. Interestingly, Varun and Samantha play the parents of Priyanka's character Nadia. Thus, Priyanka was also supposed to be a part of the show. However, the actress' name had to be removed from the final script. Raj and DK have also revealed why this happened.

The directors mentioned that Priyanka was in one of the three drafts of the series and she was a part of the series in the first draft. This way we were going to see an interesting parallel story. However, it could not be shot due to the Covid 19 restrictions. Priyanka's segment was to be shot in Europe but it could not be possible as traveling was restricted during the lockdown. Eventually, they had to see another draft without involving Nadia directly in the story.

Apart from Varun Dhawan and Samantha, 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' also stars Kay Kay Menon and Saqib Saleem. Varun and Samantha play a couple who coincidentally join a detective agency. They are also the parents of Nadia (Priyanka Chopra). Directed by 'The Family Man' creators Raj and DK, the series will stream on Amazon Prime Video from November 7.
