Karisma and Deepika were offered 'Lamha' before Bipasha Basu—Here's why they turned it down

Film producer and director Rahul Dholakia's film "Lamha" is an action thriller, which is based on the lives of Indian soldiers and undercover officers. The film depicts the work of security forces during terrorist incidents in Kashmir. Rahul said that during the shooting of the film, he had to face a lot of difficulties in the valleys of Kashmir, especially at the time when there was a curfew in Kashmir.

Rahul Dholakia explained during an interview with Mukesh Chhabra that he had to face fear while shooting in Kashmir. The situation in Kashmir was very tense in those days, due to which he first offered this film to Karisma Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. However, both the actresses refused to shoot in Kashmir. After this, the film was offered to Bipasha Basu.

Rahul said that when the shooting of the film started, on the first day he reached the set with 10,000 people. But, Bipasha Basu left the shooting after just 4-5 hours. Actually, Bipasha got angry during the shooting, because she was not told about the curfew in advance. People were happy to see Bipasha in Kashmir, but they were also shocked.

When Rahul spoke to Bipasha after she left the shoot, she said, "How did you force me to shoot during the curfew?" Rahul explained to Bipasha that Karisma had recently given birth to a child and she wanted to be a part of this film, but refused to shoot in Kashmir. Deepika Padukone also gave a similar response.

Rahul Dholakia shared the difficulties during the shooting of this film and said that these circumstances affected not only him but the entire team. Despite this, he resolved to complete the film and eventually "Lamha" came in front of the audience. The film presented the problem of Kashmir from a different perspective, which forces the audience to think. Thus, "Lamha" is not just a film, but a story of the struggles of Kashmir, which connects the audience emotionally.
