Anupam Kher tied the knot with Kirron Kher for the second time. After 39 years of marriage, the actor has confessed that he misses having a child of his own. He mentioned that he started feeling the absence of a child of his own after he aged 50. The couple has a son Sikander Kher from Kirron Kher’s first marriage with Gautam Berry. The actor doesn’t have any children of his own but now feels it would have been a nice thing if he had one.
In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Anupam Kher said, “I didn’t feel it that much before, but now sometimes I do feel like it. I think in the last seven to eight years. It's not like I am not happy with Sikander, but I think it's a joy to see a child growing up. But it’s okay. It’s not a tragedy in my life. But I sometimes feel it would have been a nice thing.”
He mentioned that he started feeling this in the last few years, earlier he did not sense it because he was busy with work. He stated, "All this while, I was extremely busy working, but after I hit 50-55, I started to feel the void. It was mostly because Kirron became busy, and so did Sikander. I work with kids in my organization, The Anupam Kher Foundation. We do a lot of work with children, and sometimes when I see my friends’ children... (I miss having children), but it’s not a sense of loss."
On the work front, Anupam Kher was last seen in The Signature alongside Mahima Chaudhary and Neena Kulkarni. He has returned to the director’s role for Tanvi: The Great and currently working on it. This will be his second directorial project after his 2002 debut Om Jai Jagadish.
