Arshad Warsi reacts to backlash received after his ‘Joker’ comment for Prabhas

Arshad Warsi has recently received a massive backlash for calling Prabhas a joker in Kalki 2898 AD. He has now opened up about the criticism received from celebrities and the audience. The actor, who has stayed away from controversies, claims that it was the first time he found himself on the wrong side. The actor who made a comment about Prabhas which turned out to be negative stated any such remark would bother a positive person, during an interview with India Today. 

Reacting to the backlash and negativity of Stardom, Arshad Warsi is ok with it honestly and states that everyone has a point of view. Addressing the right to speak, he added, “It's a democratic country, and everyone is allowed to speak in it. If you are a positive person, anything negative does bother you. However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn't bother me anymore."

During his conversation with Samdish Bhatia on his podcast Arshad was asked to name the last bad film he watched. He mentioned Kalki 2898 AD and added, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there.” He further questioned the makers about his character portrayal, “ What have you made of it? Why do they do such things, I never understand.”

Kalki 2898 AD is a dystopian sci-fi film set in a futuristic world 6000 years after Mahabharat’s Kurukshetra war. The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan among the ensemble cast. Directed by Nag Ashwin the film is produced by Vijayanthi Movies.
