Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 was in the headlines recently when Vijay Raaz was dropped from playing a key role. As a replacement, Sanjay Mishra was taken on board to play the titular role in Vijay Kumar Arora’s directorial. In a recent interview, he opened up about stepping into the shoes of another actor. Speaking about replacing Vijay Raaz, Sanjay Mishra revealed that Ajay Devgn approached him to consider the role and he couldn’t turn down the offer.
During a conversation with India Today, Sanjay Mishra confirmed that he has completed shooting for Son of Sardaar 2. Talking about substituting Vijay Raaz, he veteran actor said “All of this is a part of the business, to be very honest.” He further added, “I did the film because I got a call from Ajay Devgn. One call from him and that's all it takes for me to say yes to him. He's a close friend and has been there for me in tough times. Not just that, replacing Vijay wasn't easy.”
Sanjay Mishra hailed Vijay Raaz calling him a phenomenal actor and claimed that he was under pressure to perform and deliver his best because “I replaced a fine actor.” He also mentioned that they both are friends and will remain in the future. Mishra further stated that he is a fan of Vijay Raaz’s work adding “he's amazing at what he does. This instead motivated me to better my performance, so I don't disappoint my audience and Ajay, who always shows faith in me.”
Why Vijay Raaz was removed from Son of Sardaar 2 when he had already started shooting? The actor was pulled out reportedly because of his behavior on the sets. Kumar Mangat Pathak reported that the actor demanded bigger rooms and a vanity van and also overcharged them for the spot boys. It is also said that he was removed from the film after not greeting Ajay on the sets of the film.
