Fans of Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe are in for a delicious treat next week when the action filmmaker’s Singham Again releases for Diwali. Joining Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham, Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao, and Akshay Kumar as Veer Sooryavanshi will be Deepika Padukone making her debut as the super cop Shakti Shetty aka Lady Singham. In the exciting and action-loaded trailer of the Singham franchise’s third film, Deepika can be seen in a police uniform joining the formidable trio of Ajay, Ranveer, and Akshay in taking on the baddie Danger Lanka played by Arjun Kapoor. The actress is not a newcomer to action. Maybe not so much in Bollywood as in Hollywood where she was pitched alongside American macho man Vin Diesel in the actioner XXX: Return of Xander Cage. Insiders swear that Deepika looks “hot and heavy” as the ass-kicking cop Shakti Shetty in Singham Again and holds her own with Ajay, Ranveer, and Akshay.
 
Meanwhile, excitement is also running high for the other larger-than-life cop characters in Rohit Shetty’s high-octane action thriller who bring their own brand of drama and comedy to the screen. At the forefront is Bajirao Singham (Ajay), a character who has become iconic since his debut with Singham (2011) and its sequel Singham Returns (2014). Singham is a fearless and principled cop, dedicated to justice and unafraid to take on the corrupt. Ajay’s portrayal is marked by a powerful screen presence, making Singham a hero for the masses. Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer) of Simmba (2018) fame brings a more lighthearted yet equally heroic vibe to the film series. Bhalerao is a witty and smart cop who navigates his way through the challenges of law enforcement with charm and flair. Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay) who made his debut in Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe with Sooryavanshi (2021) is a no-nonsense, Anti-Terrorist Squad officer embodying determination and bravery in the face of danger. His character adds an intense and thrilling dimension to the universe, making him a fan favourite. Together with Shakti Shetty, this trio will send home the message on Diwali that crime does not pay.
