Priyanka Chopra is undoubtedly a global icon establishing a strong career in Bollywood and Hollywood. After quitting the Hindi film industry she made a restart in the West working on international projects. She has wowed everyone with her work in Baywatch, Citadel, and more foreign language projects. In a recent interview with Forbes India, Pee Cee shared her experience of working in Bollywood and Hollywood.
She believes, “I think every country in general is different. We all have our own cultural things that we like and how we work.” Addressing the comparison between the film industries, Priyanka stated that Hollywood has a lot of paperwork and emails keeping everything on record while in Bollywood people just get things stuff done with ‘jugaad’.
Priyanka Chopra said, “I think the one big difference I have noticed between Hollywood and Bollywood is Hollywood has so much paperwork. 100 emails that will come to you before the next day. Timings are very specific… it depends on what time you wrapped the night before. There's no room to play unless you are working with a filmmaker like that. It is really tight and very organized.”
Talking about Bollywood she said, “We have a lot more ‘jugaad’ (winging it) and get stuff done. We are like a little romantic about it like ‘Arey ho jayega, kar lenge (We will get it done),’ so it is like a very different way of working but that is also true to the countries themselves. I think our creativity can be super organic sometimes. That's the big difference I have seen otherwise filmmaking around the world speaks the same language.”
Priyanka Chopra has featured in several Hollywood projects namely, Baywatch, Love Again, Citadel, and more. On the work front, Priyanka Chopra has resumed shooting for Citadel S2. She will also be next seen in two Hollywood movies one is an action comedy Head of State co-starring Idris Elba and John Cena. Another is an American swashbuckler action drama titled The Bluff.
