Will Singham Again do for Arjun Kapoor what Animal did for Bobby Deol? Revive his career and give back to Bollywood a talented actor with promise who needed a comeback film with great potential at the box office? It does appear so. And cinegoers who saw the trailer of Rohit Shetty’s mega Diwali release, the Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again, swear that Arjun has put in a great performance as the baddie Danger Lanka. In fact, said one critic, he is pure evil in the few minutes he appears in the trailer. Arjun’s villainous character is inspired by Ravana of Ramayana. His new avatar is guaranteed to enthrall audiences. Much like Prakash Raj, as the deliciously malevolent, humorous and corrupt Goa leader Jaikant Shikre did in the first Singham film of 2011.

Rohit Shetty has made Arjun's character Danger Lanka look menacing and cruel. He is as much in the Singham Again trailer as are the film’s three big heroes, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh. He spreads terror with a blood soaked machete, killing all in his path, his clothes as black as his heart. Audiences will be particularly keen to see the clash between Arjun and Ranveer who are being paired together again after Gunday in 2014. In his Danger Lanka role, Arjun quite holds his own against Rohit Shetty’s entire Cop Universe cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty, Shweta Tiwari, Ravi Kishan and Siddharth Jadhav. The question is, will Singham Again do for Arjun what Animal did for Bobby Deol? Make him a saleable actor and a draw at the theatres? Wait for the Diwali release!
