Amazingly, and interestingly, Rohit Shetty has incorporated the Ramayana in his Cop Universe franchise’s Diwali release, the excitedly awaited Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again. The trailer of the film whetted the curiosity of audiences with its many religious references.
In Singham Again Ajay Devgn who plays Bajirao Singham is on a mission to rescue his wife Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan). Avni's character is inspired by Goddess Sita and Arjun Kapoor, whose character is Danger Lanka, plays a Ravana-like key role in the film and plots her kidnapping. The premise of the film presents a new take on the Ramayana where the epic mythological battle between gods and demons is depicted in the context of cop action.
The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. Ranveer plays Hanuman, Tiger plays Lakshman, Akshay is Jatayu, and Deepika is Lady Singham. The characters have been crafted to bring alive the epic. The trailer also showcased many important scenes from the Ramayana, like the Monkey Army, which make it clear that Rohit Shetty has made Singham Again keeping in mind religious references. The film will not only entertain with its cop action but also take audiences deep into Indian culture and mythology.
