Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play villain in Ayushmann Khurrana’s vampire comedy ‘Thamba’

Maddock Films supernatural universe is expanding with movies and actors joining in. Following the Stree series, Bhediya, and Munjya the forthcoming film is Thamba touted to be a vampire comedy. This introduces Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in Dinesh Vijan’s horror universe. In addition to the lead cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been roped in to play the antagonist. 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui steps into a quirky menacing villainous role different than his previous negative performances. For the first time, he joins Maddock Films growing supernatural horror universe with Thamba earlier titled Vampire of Vijay Nagar. According to reports, Siddiqui's character in Thamba, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is described as “eccentric yet violent,” originating from the ancient Vijayanagara Empire.

According to reports, A source close to the development revealed, “Nawazuddin's antagonist has been imagined as an eccentric yet violent character who lived centuries ago. He travels to the present to seek revenge and control the destinies of the two lead characters.”

The source further added, “The actor is eager to bring his own interpretation to this eccentric yet violent character from centuries ago.” Post Diwali Siddiqui is expected to undergo a look test to finalize his appearance for the film. Siddiqui has previously played villains in movies such as ‘Badlapur’, ‘Munna Michael’, ‘Kick’, and ‘Petta’.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the makers plan to take the film on floors this year in November end of December start. Thamba will be the sixth installment in the popular horror universe following the success of Stree 2.
