Shah Rukh Khan was disappointed with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham's iconic entry reveals Nikkhil Advani

Remember Shah Rukh Khan’s helicopter scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which became an iconic entry in Bollywood movies? Rahul Raichand exits the helicopter and runs towards his mansion with his mother played by Jaya Bachchan waiting with a pooja thali, this particular sequence etched in cinephiles mind. Well, surprisingly, the superstar was unhappy with his entry which later became grand. 

Karan Johar's directorial is an iconic family entertainer in Hindi movies and is celebrated even today among the masses. Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani who was an assistant director on Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham revealed that SRK was disappointed by the scene initially. Speaking to Cyrus Broacha for his podcast Cyrus Says, Advani shared why Shah Rukh Khan didn’t like his entry initially.

Nikkhil Advani said, "When we told him that his entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is with the helicopter. He thought he is going to jump off the helicopter, while he just had to step down. The scene was more about Jaya Bachchan that she gets to know about the arrival of her son as soon as he touches the ground.” 

Advani who lastly directed Vedaa starring John Abraham and Sharvari has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in multiple projects during his starring career phase. After Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham he directed Kal Ho Naa Ho produced by Karan Johar. He also has Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Mohabbatein with the megastar to his credit.

Shah Rukh Khan, on the work front, is gearing up for his next King a full-fledged action thriller. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh the film also stars Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles.
