Yash's 'Toxic' faces controversy over illegal tree felling amidst ongoing shooting

South superstar Yash is in the news these days for his upcoming film 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups'. New information related to the story and cast of this film is constantly coming out. But recently a controversy has surrounded this film, which is related to illegal tree felling.

'Toxic' is one of the most awaited films of 2025. The shooting of this film is going on in full swing, which is being directed by Geeta Mohandas. However, recently news has come that Yash's film has been accused of illegal tree felling in the forests for set construction. According to a PTI report, Karnataka Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre on Tuesday directed the officials to take action against those who allowed the cutting of trees on forest land for the set of Toxic. The minister himself inspected the place where the film was being shot.

He said, "HMT has illegally sold the forest land under its control to various government and private organisations and individuals, and non-forest activities are being carried out here. The felling of trees in this forest area is evident from satellite images." The minister further said that he recently came to know that HMT is leasing forest land for film shooting and renting out open areas on a daily basis.

The Forest Minister said that if any official has given permission to cut trees in the forest, action should be taken against him. Apart from this, a forest offence case will also be registered against all those responsible for illegal tree felling in the area. This controversy has raised questions on the production of the film, while Yash and his team have not given any official statement on the issue. In such a situation, now it remains to be seen what effect this has on the shooting of the film and how this dispute is resolved.
