Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna have entered Maddock Films' supernatural horror comedy universe. Their next film titled ‘Thama’ was announced today promising a spooky and thrilling narrative. Dinesh Vijan known for unique twists and magical elements introduces a love story but this is a bloody one. As it joins Stree and Bhediya, horror comedy universe stars welcome Thama to their gang.
Thama is slated for a major Diwali release next year (2025), joining Maddock’s horror-comedy universe alongside Stree, Stree 2, Munjya, and the Bhediya series. Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan have welcomed Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna to their supernatural team. The actors have expressed their excitement on social media.
Shraddha Kapoor who headlined the Stree franchise shared Thama announcement video on her Instagram story. Welcoming the next installment in the universe she wrote, “Bloody excited for this.” On the other hand, Stree 2 star Rajkummar Rao who also featured in Roohi stated this is “going to be epic.” He also congratulated Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik for Thama.
Varun Dhawan who plays the werewolf in Bhediya warned Ayushmann Khurrana to be aware of him. He welcomed Thama and its actor but with a cautionary statement, writing “Swagat hai Thama, but beware of ‘Bhediya’ (adding werewolf emoticon)."
Thama will have Ayushmann Khurrana playing a man-turned-vampire similar to how Bhediya showcased Varun Dhawan. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in titular roles.
