Tom Hanks praises Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' as a unique take on 'Forrest Gump'

Laal Singh Chaddha, the Hindi remake of Hollywood film 'Forrest Gump', did not get the expected success at the box office. This proved to be a big setback for Aamir Khan's career. However, while the film received a mixed response in India, now the original 'Forrest Gump' actor Tom Hanks praised it and said that it is a great film to watch. During a recent conversation, Tom Hanks praised 'Lal Singh Chaddha' and shared his views on the film.

When Tom Hanks was asked if he had seen 'Lal Singh Chaddha', the Hindi remake of 'Forrest Gump', he said, "Yes, I saw it. It is unique." Hanks further added, "This is a testament to how films progress. We have seen films many times that become a part of our creative process, sometimes in a normal way and sometimes in a very unique way."

Tom Hanks also reflected on the global appeal of films like 'Forrest Gump'. He said, "Sometimes there are films that get embedded in the psyche of the whole world in such a way that people cannot forget them easily. Such films leave a different impact, crossing cultures and boundaries." According to Hanks, 'Lal Singh Chaddha' also has such a specialty. Mixing Indian culture and emotions, this film has presented the classic story of 'Forrest Gump' with a new perspective.

'Lal Singh Chaddha' was released in theaters on 11 August 2022. Kareena Kapoor Khan played the lead role in the film along with Aamir Khan. However, the controversy and boycott movement surrounding the film before its release had a negative impact on its box office performance. Made on a big budget of Rs 180 crore, the film earned only about Rs 130 crore.
