Meiyazhagan Movie Review : A feel-good film on self-discovery, Where Karthi-Arvind Swamy's friendship steals the show

Storyline

Arvind Swamy, facing financial struggles, leaves his cherished home with his family for Madras. Twenty-two years later, he returns for his cousin’s wedding, rekindles an old love, and forms a close bond with Miazaghan (Karthi), leading to twists that blend tension with warmth.

Performance

Karthi brilliantly embodies the extroverted, innocent village guy, a role he’s excelled in before. Arvind Swamy brings mature, restrained depth to Arul’s character, and Karthi perfectly complements his journey of self-discovery.

Direction

Director C. Prem Kumar’s magical touch shines in a memorable beer scene, where two friends’ bonding, respect, and affection feel incredibly real, pulling viewers in as if it’s unfolding right before them.

Govind Vasantha’s haunting melodies, especially "Yaaro Ivan Yaaro" sung by Kamal Haasan, and the evocative background score shine under C. Premkumar's direction. Mahendran Jayaraju's cinematography beautifully captures the village's charm, especially in mesmerizing night scenes.
