The film 'Veer' was made by Salman Khan. He also took full interest in writing its story. Despite a great cast, a good budget and everything else being favourable, this film flopped at the box office. Anil Sharma has explained the reason for this. Anil Sharma says that the reason behind this was the climax of the film. But, Salman Khan wanted to do it that way.
Salman Khan said in a conversation with The Lallantop that Salman made every necessary effort in the film 'Veer'. But the audience did not like the climax of the film. It showed the conflict between father and son. The audience rejected it. This is why the film's performance deteriorated. He further said, 'This climax was a part of the original script. I always found it strange why the father and son are fighting. But, that was Salman sahab's own subject, the story was that he wanted the father and son to fight'.
Anil Sharma said, 'I made that film with a lot of heart. Salman's look in it is amazing. I feel that the climax of that film was messed up. I talked to Salim sahab many times. He also felt that this cannot happen. Anil Sharma says that despite giving the reference of Ramayana to justify the climax, it was difficult to explain its logic. Ultimately, this is why the film failed at the box office.
Anil Sharma further said, 'The film 'Veer' would have performed better without the chosen ending, he said, 'The last 15-20 minutes of the film were very stretched. That became a reason why the film was not liked. Its climax played a big role in the average performance of the film. According to the report of Saccanilk, the film Veer was made with a budget of about Rs 55 crore. It made a net collection of about Rs 45.56 crore.
