After Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, Kartik Aryan and Alia Bhatt among the recent Bollywood actors to turn producer, comes Rajkummar Rao. The ‘Stree 2’ actor, it is reliably learned, is turning producer with his wife Patralekhaa. And their first production is likely to go on the floors in January 2025. It will be a Vivek Daschaudhary-directed unconventional drama. Daschaudhary had served as an assistant director to Raj & DK in the 2023 Netflix black comedy crime thriller ‘Guns and Gulaabs’ that starred Rajkummar alongside Dulquer Salman. Apparently, it was Patralekhaa who gave Rajkummar the push after ‘Stree 2’ was declared a runaway success. The actor, who had hits and misses this year with ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ and ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video’ respectively, had been contemplating expanding his canvas in Bollywood after 14 years in the industry. Production was the next best thing.
