Manisha Koirala reveals, Shahrukh Khan’s character wasn't meant to die in Dil Se, This is the reason why the climax changed…

Manisha Koirala and Shahrukh Khan's pairing was highly appreciated by the audience in the film Dil Se(1998). The story of the film and the acting of both were praised. However, Shahrukh Khan's fans were very upset that his character dies at the end of the film. Recently, Manisha Koirala revealed in an interview that there was no intention of Shahrukh's character's death in the initial script of the film. So then what happened that it was decided to make Shahrukh's character die in the film? Manisha told the real reason for this change.

Manisha said, "When the story of the film Dil Se was written, there was no plan for the death of Shahrukh's character. But the end of the film was changed, and Shahrukh's character blows himself up with a bomb along with my character. In the earlier ending, Shahrukh's character tries to stop me, but my character does not move from his goal. In such a situation, Shahrukh had no way to stop me. However, the other producers and director of the film felt that such an ending would not be able to properly show the love between Shahrukh and my character. So later it was decided that Shahrukh's character, along with my character, will sacrifice his life to stop the bomb from exploding. This change also showed Shahrukh's love and also gave more importance to his role."

Manisha also said that before Dil Se she had worked with Mani Ratnam in the film Bombay (1995). Mani Ratnam brought out her beauty and acting very well in this film, and that is why she still respects him a lot. Manisha says, "When I got the offer for the film Bombay, many people told me that if I did this film, I would not get heroine roles in the future. But I did not listen to anyone and worked with Mani Ratnam."
